Sexyhair, Germany

Yesterday it was time to cross the borders to Mülheim ad Ruhr, Germany.
Me and my manager had a meeting with my brand new sponsor SEXYHAIR. We arrived around 11:20 at the headoffice of Sexyhair and had a short meeting with Kathrin Schnelle (who appeared to be a great and enthusiastic person).
Around 12:00 Skot Foss(famous hairstylist from Hollywood, LA) walked in and we had a short chat with him aswell (must say it's a great guy that knows and enjoys his profession alot!).

After a 10 minute chat with Skott and Kathrin it was time to hit the road to go to a Sexyhair salon.
Introducing myself to whole bunch of people and again had a real good and fun conversation with Skot.

MAKE-OVER TIME!!!
The Photographer Stephan took some 'before' shots and it was time for me to take place in the chair to let Skot create his art on my head.

After Skot was done with an impressive hairstyling act the photographer took some 'after' shots and took me outside for some cool pictures aswell.

We ended the day with a great lunch at the Sexyhair headoffice and combined that with a good and informative conversation with Kathrin. And I can tell you that this Frank Foks vs. Sexyhair thing is gonna bring you guys a whole lot of cool stuff!

All the pictures that will be shown in the magazine of Sexyhair. The magazine I once blogged about that had an interview with me in it. This all will be publiced in June, so as soon as I get something I'll let you guys know.

I wanna thank everyone that made our day so special and made us feel so comfortable!
We hope to meet again soon!

Frankie goes Germany!

Some of you might have noticed it allready. I'm working on a German tour that will be planned in May 2010. Hoping to be it as big as possible I will get a lot of help from a sponsor in Germany. This sponsor found out about my music, saw the picture with it and they knew right away they wanted to support me.
I'm talking about the amazing mark for hairproducts 'SEXYHAIR'. I'll be meeting with them by the end of this month to talk trough everything and make the tour a great one!

If you're located in Germany and got any places I can play.. LET ME KNOW! I'll be around Düsseldorf/Köln/Berlin/München... this all will be in the last 3 weeks of May. Send a mail to fanmail@frankfoks.com if you have any place for me to play. Even if you want to set up a BBQ gig in your backyard with your family and friends.. let me know!

Last month I was introduced to the clients of SEXYHAIR in their own magazine called 'SEXYNEWS'.. so make sure you read it when you're at a barbershop in Germany!

From now on I'll be where the light is

Last wednesday it was finally time to see one of my greatest influences and a big hero 'John Mayer'. The last time I'd seen him was in 2008, but finally this was his first big headlinershow in The Netherlands.
I'm sure I could write a book about my experiences that night, but I'm just gonna tell you guys that it must have been one of the greatest nights of my life! It was such an unique performance and show. John and his guys performed like never before and played like he was at home all night. It was all about sharing; sharing the music and the feeling with the crowd and also the other way around. It was absoluty amazing!

Thanks John for helping me continue my way to the top!

Demosong #2

And again I've got a little prehear for you guys.
A song about people not understanding you. I think everyone can have that feeling in their own way. Like John Mayer said: Getting people to know nothing about you from thinking they know something about you...

Have a great 2010!

Demosong

As I already told you guys, I've been working on some new songs. And right now I'm working on a song called 'Where I wanna be'. This is one of the 'maybe' 40 songs I wrote in the last 5 months. But as you might be expecting, not all are getting their place in the next round of the demo recordings. The selection will be just 5(or a little more) of all of those songs I've written.

And today I've uploaded a little 'sneak-prehear' of the new song 'Where I wanna be'. One to make these cold days a lot warmer. Enjoy!

Working again!

Today we (Sjoerd, Clemens and myself) started our first demosession.
The past couple of months I've been writing new songs and thinking about what I want my music to be, what I want to tell and what it should sound like.
And right now I've got it all figured out the way I want. My music should be music to feel good with, to sing along with and to cry with. So the thing I want to tell is an emotion that I feel with a song. The way it should sound is ofcourse the most important thing, cause I can't play all instruments at the same time myself.
So what can you expect? Well... I will be driving down a road that is right in between the John Mayer 'Battle Studies' album and the Keith Urban sound of his latest work.

Today we worked on a new song called 'Falling in love'. A feelgood song that everybody will enjoy I think. But unfortunately I can't let you listen to it. You guys will have to wait untill I hit the stage again in February.

We're working hard to get it all out there the way it has to be. But it takes a lot of time and patience to reach that point. Just stay tuned to know what is keeping me busy and make sure you'll be there at one of my shows in 2010. If you do so, I'll be working my ass of to get that album in stores for you!

God bless you.

John Mayer New Album

I had to tell you guys how much I love the new John Mayer album called 'Battle Studies'.
It's an amazing list of tracks that takes you on a John Mayer tour.
Most of the songs are just back to basic, where he once started. Think of songs of the 'Room for squares' album and of a song like 'Daughters'. But this time he did songs like that with the knowledge he has right now.

It's a great piece of art that will be a big inspiration to me.
And because I can't get the songs of my mind I just recorded a little jam I was doing on one of the songs of the new album called 'All we ever do is say goodbye'. Enjoy!
