Demosong
As I already told you guys, I've been working on some new songs. And right now I'm working on a song called 'Where I wanna be'. This is one of the 'maybe' 40 songs I wrote in the last 5 months. But as you might be expecting, not all are getting their place in the next round of the demo recordings. The selection will be just 5(or a little more) of all of those songs I've written.
And today I've uploaded a little 'sneak-prehear' of the new song 'Where I wanna be'. One to make these cold days a lot warmer. Enjoy!

Working again!
Today we (Sjoerd, Clemens and myself) started our first demosession.
The past couple of months I've been writing new songs and thinking about what I want my music to be, what I want to tell and what it should sound like.
And right now I've got it all figured out the way I want. My music should be music to feel good with, to sing along with and to cry with. So the thing I want to tell is an emotion that I feel with a song. The way it should sound is ofcourse the most important thing, cause I can't play all instruments at the same time myself.
So what can you expect? Well... I will be driving down a road that is right in between the John Mayer 'Battle Studies' album and the Keith Urban sound of his latest work.
Today we worked on a new song called 'Falling in love'. A feelgood song that everybody will enjoy I think. But unfortunately I can't let you listen to it. You guys will have to wait untill I hit the stage again in February.
We're working hard to get it all out there the way it has to be. But it takes a lot of time and patience to reach that point. Just stay tuned to know what is keeping me busy and make sure you'll be there at one of my shows in 2010. If you do so, I'll be working my ass of to get that album in stores for you!

John Mayer New Album
I had to tell you guys how much I love the new John Mayer album called 'Battle Studies'.
It's an amazing list of tracks that takes you on a John Mayer tour.
Most of the songs are just back to basic, where he once started. Think of songs of the 'Room for squares' album and of a song like 'Daughters'. But this time he did songs like that with the knowledge he has right now.
It's a great piece of art that will be a big inspiration to me.
And because I can't get the songs of my mind I just recorded a little jam I was doing on one of the songs of the new album called 'All we ever do is say goodbye'. Enjoy!

Justin Nozuka
Last Thursday I went to see Justin Nozuka live in Amsterdam. And it was awesome!
Finally I saw one of my heroes play live just a couple of meters in front of me. The show and Justin were a really big thing to me. It was such an inspiring thing to be part of. He gave me a rush to get to that point that he's reached over the last few years. Just making the music he wants to play and giving his soul to the audience from the beginning till the end of the show.
Afterwards I got the change to meet him, so ofcourse I took that opportunity! I went up to him and saw this guy of my age that was enjoying every second of it. Ofcourse I told him I loved his show and what a great inspiration he is to me as a musician. As we spoke a little about music, I gave him my 'Love is Life' EP and he was really pleased to get that from a musician that is inspired by what he's doing. He told me to listen to it and that he was curious to find out what kind of music it was.
He signed his albumbooklet with:"Frank Foks, lutsa love my brother" and wished me good luck in my carreer.
What a great night that was!

I'm soooo sorry for changing the layout of my site again haha.
But I think it's getting better and better, so we might have reached THE layout this time :) ... but as a designer I just can't stop messing around with it.
Well, my LOVE IS LIFE EP is still for sale... BUT! it has a new cover!
Why? Well.. the last cover might have let you think that the first song on it would be 'Cumbaja' ... sooo that is why the cover of the EP is now new in the style you can see on the webpage. Now everything fits together!

Make sure you include your address and the name you have ordered your EP on, so we can check if you really have one.
